Part of a series of images from the liquid metal, carbo-plastic, hydrogel and permacrete core of visual creators on the Internet.  Images that stir my senses and evoke plots and concepts for what I’d like to see (or fear) in the future.

This is a wonderful piece of work. Evocative of WWII era poster art but rather more “at ease soldier”. Definitely something I would like to see hanging from my wall – if only I had more wall space to hang more stuff from! Personal note to self: buy a bigger house.  But Dieselpunk is something I’ve only recently started taking an interest in. It’s like steampunk but enhanced by the combustion engine: a metaphor for human existence during the 20th century. But also, perhaps, a sense of renewed identity – of healing or of whimsical nostalgia – from when the Ukraine belonged to an entirely different era, and much large entity?
