Part of a series of images from the liquid metal, carb0-plastic, hydrogel and permacrete core of visual creators on the Internet.  Images that stir my senses and evoke plots and concepts for what I’d like to see (or fear) in the future.

I love this image.  Not so sure what that say’s about me or if it’s actually more to do with what Danielle Tunstall has achieved here.  Yeah, okay, it’s a nasty swear word.  It’s gratuitous. But that’s the point.  Look at this guy.  He can’t wait to pound the callused edges of his palms into the soft cartilage of your face.  He’s not going to use his knuckles.  He’s done this a hundred times before.  He doesn’t want to break his hand.  He wants to mess you up and the idea of you wailing, screaming, pleading is sending the most awesome pleasure signals to his brain.  This is the guy-on-the-street about to enter the heat of battle.

Battle. Rage against the machine – the system – the Man.  This is anarchy incarnate – concept hammered into flesh.  And relevant in the context of August 2011 when the UK took a frightening step into the Cyberpunk genre: mass, spontaneous riots.  Not protests. But a meme.  A social paradigm based on “fuck authority” and “fuck you”. I’ll have what I want and I want it now.  It’s my right.

Err, right.

Great image and more frightening the more you look into those eyes; you’re looking into an abyss… called the end of empire, the end of the West (as we have known it) and the hurtling oncoming glare of Cyberpunk.

What do you think?

Danielle Tunstall has a vast repository of images she’s created and showcasing on her website, definitely worth a look if you’re into the darker side of Cyberpunk, verging on horror, smeared in blood and infection.
