Part of a series of images from the shadowy fringes of the Internet. Visuals that stir my sense for the eerie and macabre.
The artist, Zarono, has crafted some visually stunning pages that fit perfectly into the binding of the Cthulhu Mythos concept; these particular pages could be authentic fragments of arcane knowledge from the forbidden book De Vermis Mysteriis (Mysteries of the Worm), written by Ludwig Prinn – used for the conjuration of grotesque and strange creatures that are on a par with organic, fleshy demons from beyond the boundaries of the Quantisphere – the reality that humans have been bound within.
Prinn was an alchemist, necromancer, and sorcerer, purportedly captured during the Ninth Crusade (in 1271) where he learned his occult knowledge from Syrian sorcerers, and boasted of using potent magicks to extend his life through many centuries. It’s true that he only died in the late 15th or early 16th century, burned at the stake in Brussels.
