Part of a series of images from the liquid metal, carb0-plastic, hydrogel and permacrete core of visual creators on the Internet. Images that stir my senses and evoke plots and concepts for what I’d like to see (or fear) in the future.
I like this image because despite the sterile colours and lack of context, there’s a depth to the scene – in particular the contrast between machine and human face. Reminds me of the wonderful video by Bjork for her track “All is Full of Love”. I also like it because it strikes a chord with how I’ve visualised the Sony Houseman (robot) I’ve introduced into some of my sci-fi & dark fantasy novels and the post-apocalyptic & Cthulhu Mythos RPG Yellow Dawn.
